How to Play Surviv.io
Surviv.io is yet another 2D battle royale game. With the rise of Fortnite, developers are trying to shift games directly to the battle royale mode, and .io battle royale games are starting to get more and more popular these days.
Surviv.io brings all the elements of the classic battle royale game and brings it to the 2D world.
Getting started
If you want to try out this game on your browser, you will have to visit the surviv.io website. That’s literally all you have to do in order to play the game. However, if you’d like to track your stats, you will have to create an account. This will take only a few minutes, so you won’t be bothered, don’t worry. On the other side, you can also download the game through an app store on your smartphone – the game is available for both Android and iOS users.
The controls are very simple. All you need is a mouse and a keyboard if you want to play through your browser.
Gameplay
Basically, the goal is to collect as much as you can at the beginning. You start on a new map and the map will slowly shrink in size, you will be noticed when the circle starts to shrink and you will have to advance to the next zone in order to survive. There can only be one winner, so you are looking forward to collecting as much loot as you can and killing as many people as possible in order to win the game.
My experience tells me that it’s necessary for you to pick up as much stuff as you can as soon as the game begins. This will give you a certain advantage over other players. Also, you have to be careful at the start since you will be vulnerable without any loot. When you kill people you get to take their stuff, so you also have a chance if you get a lucky kill even if you didn’t take a lot of loot at the start.
Equipment
Regarding guns, I really recommend using shotguns. It is one of the best items in the game as it fires out multiple shots and each shot deals a certain amount of damage. Of course, the closer you are to your target the more shots will hit, resulting in dealing more damage. But it’s a bit different from other battle royale games since the bullets are traveling a bit slower, so you have a greater chance of hitting your enemies. You also have to hunt for ammo since the rounds aren’t unlimited. Your gun will be useless if your ammo is wasted, so be careful!
There are also bandages and heals included in the game but you have to be careful when using them. They will slow you down while you’re using them but are useful since you always want to stay at full health.
I think close-range pistols aren’t really good for this game as they don’t offer almost anything over shotguns or other guns.
