1. Stranded Sails
After the surprise blockbuster performance of Stardew Valley which follows a story arc of a farming simulator, Stranded sails will be released with the same concept of Stardew Valley but in the addition of pirates for more thrills throughout the journey. The developer, Lemonbomb Entertainment, will release a world farming game about being stranded in an island and was forced to build a camp and cultivate a small farm along with your few companions. Then, you can explore its neighbors, look out for resources, treasures and bring all of these to the camp. But despite the lookout, you also need to keep an eye for danger and foes that will let your character die. It will be released in the spring of 2019.
2. A Plague Tale
A Plague Tale is one of the most anticipated indie games and an action-adventure-stealth genre. It is a medieval version of the trending game called “The Last of Us”. A Plague Tale follows a story which happened in France a hundred years ago. It allows you to control a young woman to guide her younger brother to go through the land affected by religious conflicts, political turmoil, and of course, plague. You’ll go through this slickest journey using weapons like fire to kill the deadly rats. Your survival methods will be put into test until you succeed in finding a safe place or killing every diseased vermin. It will be out in the market this May 2019.
3. Psychonauts 2
The first installment of Psychonauts was released 15 years ago and the full sequel is coming on its way. Psychonauts 2 will still use the third-person 3D platform action style like the first version. The users will play as the newly-diagnosed Psychonaut and require you to travel to the mind of others; through these minds, adventures begin. There’s no definite date when it will come out but 2019 is going to be the year it will be seen in the market.
4. Afterparty
“Oxenfree” is one of the incredible games which contain great writing. It was developed by Night School Studio and follows a dialogue-driven formula filled with nerve-wracking adventures. If you have enjoyed such game, then “Afterparty” is something to look out for. “Afterparty” follows a story arc of having demons, fiends, and departed enjoying a drink, boozing and partying. The protagonist in the game is recently deceased friends, they got up from Hades’ territory and should escape permanently by defeating all the possible odds. There are plenty of ways to change the flow of the game via decision-making.
5. Telling Lies
Sam Barlow’s “Her Story” captured every gamer around the world because it was inventive and involving. “Telling Lies” follows the same format but is five times bigger. The user chooses and watched videos to slowly connect the story and solve a crime. “Telling Lies” is obviously filled with storied of lying and espionage. But according to the developer, this game is trickier and more intense than “Her Story”. It is something to watch out.
